Solid State Overload Relay CEP7-5.4-27A Sprecher Schuh (CEP7-1EFEB)

Description

The Sprecher + Schuh CEP7-1EFEB electronic overload has an adjustable AMP range from 5.4 to 27 AMPS and mounts directly to the CA7 series of contactors from 9 to 23 AMPS. These solid state overloads come with phase loss protection, manual or automatic reset (for remote resetting option) and selectable class tripping (Class 10 through 30). A pair of integrated auxiliary contacts, 1 normally open and 1 normally closed, come standard on the CEP7-1EFEB and if a lower AMP range is needed, Sprecher and Schuh offers the CEP7-1EFDB, which adjusts from 3.2 to 16 AMPS.Thermal or bimetallic overload relays typically have a small current adjustment range of 1.5:1 meaning that the maximum setting is generally 1.5 times the lower setting. The CEP7 caused the industry to take note of the flexibility when it first introduced a 3.2:1 adjustment ratio. A wider adjustment range is the primary reason the industry has been turning to more specifications calling for electronic overload relay protection over thermal overload relays. Sprecher + Schuh’s CEP7 overload relay is capable of adjustment to a maximum of five times the minimum set current, which dramatically reduces the number of units required on-hand to cover the full range of current settings up to 200 amperes.
